报告简介(Abstract)：

Strictly speaking, integrated photonics products have been widely used in commercial applications for over 20 years. Starting with InP based products and recently boosted by Si photonics integrated photonics is increasingly becoming an enabling technology and a key component in many optical module and communication system products. This presentation briefly explains the technological and the commercial importance of integrated photonics, reviews its commercialization progress, and discuss its future, with an emphasize in Si photonics in optical communication field.

主讲人简介(Resume of the presenter)：

Dr. Xiaochen Sun received his B.S. in Physics from Peking University and his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from MIT. He currently serves as the CTO of ZTE Photonics, the co-founder and the CTO of LaXense. His work includes directing R&D teams and projects and developing technology strategies, product roadmap and intellectual properties. He co-authored >40 academic papers with >2000 citations and >10 US patents.
